Ah, Fashion Week. A week average humans only used to see in the New York Times style section and read about a month after the fact in magazines. Icons such as Anna Wintour would line the front rows of the cat walks to preview next season’s best by both world famous names and the city’s hottest up and comers.

As NYFW shifted from Bryant Park to Lincoln Center and designers began launching pop-up presentations and shows all over the city, bloggers took the center stage as street style icons dressed head to toe in the edgiest pieces. But more about that later.

This was my first year experiencing the hustle and flow of NYFW and I don’t think it’ll be my last. {And if we’re putting in requests, let’s shoot for London, Paris and Milan too. IT’S NOT SO MUCH TO ASK.} Suede in unique cuts, textures and styles have been showing up in the collections of handfuls of designers, on and off the runway as we look toward spring. This maroon fringed skirt by Intermix is hands down one of the most comfortable pencil skirts I’ve ever worn, and the color is perfect to transition into cooler temperatures. I am looking forward to adding a sweater and white kicks to this skirt for a more SoCal vibe.
