I felt as though everywhere I looked this summer, someone was wearing a straw hat. From magazines, to street wear blogs, to the beaches of Hawaii, woven hats in every shape and size seemed to be a warm weather staple.

I’ve always loved a good hat, especially since I moved to LA where no matter what season, the sun is always shining. I can sit here and pretend it’s about UV protection {it really should be}, but more than anything it’s about fun.

Boater hats took over the spotlight this summer in all shapes and sizes, bringing a certain 1950’s nautical feel to any outfit. I bought my first one early in the season and haven’t been able to take it off since. If you follow me on instagram, I’m sure you’re beyond over it at this point. {Fear not, the era of felt is about to take center stage.} But while we have a few cherished weeks of summer left and the beginning of fall starts to roll in, I plan on wearing this little straw guy with everything from cut-offs to cable knit sweaters.
