Despite the fact that denim on denim has been all over the likes of WhoWhatWear street style and the collections of major designers since last fall, it’s taken me a little bit to get behind it. I’ve worn only one denim meets denim outfit on the blog before (here), but as of late i’ve been really finding it fun to play with different textures, washes and styles and how they mix together.
This jacket by J.Crew is one of my favorites (thanks to a recommendation from my sister!) as the relaxed boyfriend fit and neutral wash make it easy to pair with a multitude of pieces. I usually size up a size or two in denim jackets so they’re extra comfy and layering is always an option. The key in denim pairings is focusing less on the color and more on the fit of your denim. Seems a little counterintuitive, yes? Here’s the thing though…whether it’s a matching denim on denim outfit that was designed to be worn together or two pieces that you put together from your closet, as long as the fit is on point then your outfit will be as well.
What’s your favorite way to wear denim on denim this season?
