I love the look of a clean, white linen shirt. To be honest, I find myself pinning countless outfit options featuring white shirts without even knowing it. I went back into my Pinterest fashion archives and so many different variations were present, that I knew I had to share my own with you.
Let’s just start by saying, finding the perfect white button down can take TIME. The fit, the length and the density of the material all play an important role. It’s normal to walk into a J.Crew or Madewell, grab your true size, try it on and proceed to get frustrated that the arms are too tight, the chest buttons are popping open and the body isn’t tapper enough. I GET IT. Ladies, here’s the secret: SIZE UP and look for a heavier material, like linen, that will drape nicely on your body.
I went up 2 sizes in this button down and have never been happier. I did a little “front tuck” on my pants because to create a proper waistline without a belt. This shirt has slits up the side so it lays beautifully when tucked like this, and also when tucked in completely. By sizing up and looking for a heavier fabric, it looks more like a true boyfriend style, as opposed to an old school uniform that never fit properly.
