This past week I spent a truly amazing day working on an upcoming project. (I’m so excited to share it with you guys!) I remember saying a one point, “I would work 12 hours a day, 7 days per week and feel completely balanced if this is what I did every day.” It is so rare in this life that we find love and joy in what we do at work and I believe that it is something we must fight for every second.
Yesterday was my last day working my “full-time” job with lululemon athletica, shifting into a more branding/social media focused position to allow more time for this blog to develop. I moved out to LA with lululemon and I still struggle to find the words to do justice for how thankful I feel for this company and for its people. I have made lifelong friendships with individuals who challenge me to be the best of who I am in every moment, even in the toughest situations, loving me and supporting me every step of the way. I’ve hired dozens of people, built and designed custom trainings, moved across the country, learned how to turn dreams into goals with deadlines, did yoga during management meetings and I currently own more pairs of black stretchy pants than any healthy human should. It’s been a beautiful 2 years.
It is because of the lululemon culture that I had the courage to take a risk and pursue my dreams, which led and continues to lead to amazing partnerships, such as this one! We shot some fun things for this surprise project all over DTLA and it was a blast to be able to use my new (used) Canon 50d. I’ve been doing a lot of photography projects recently, so having a strong Canon body w/ a Tamron lens has changed my work dramatically. Stay tuned for more on this project and follow along @soulcalchels for live updates & photos from NYC!
